A MAN is going the extra mile to help raise money for an animal charity.

Assaf Flatto, 38, of Thumpers, Hemel Hempstead, will be taking part in the London to Paris bike ride in May next year to raise funds for Dogs Trust UK.

The IT specialist is originally from Israel where he found his pet Tenchi, a rescue dog, and he now hopes to raise more than £1,400 during the four day event for the UK-based dog charity.

He said: “I want to give something back. Tenchi is from a rescue centre, and I want to raise money for other centres here in the UK.

“I’m looking forward to it but can’t train that much at the moment because of how the weather has been recently.”

Assaf will have to cycle 250 miles to reach Paris, much further than his previous participation in the London to Brighton and Pedal for Scotland cycles.
