Touched by the plight of the Nepalese people they met on their visit, Gill Dobby and Hilary Gardener from Berkhamsted, Ingerlise Pope from Tring and Caroline Atkins from St Albans have raised funds to rebuild three homes.

They have now gathered together a group of 15 people to complete the rebuild and take out supplies to the village school, which was also totally destroyed in the earthquake.

The women are holding a fundraising comedy night at Berkhamsted Civic Centre at 7.30pm on Friday, May 6.

Compere Kevin Shepherd will be joined by comedians Jim Daly, Jenny Collier and David Whitney. For tickets, email [email protected]

They are also organising a quiz night on June 16 at Bridgwater School, Berkhamsted. Tickets are £10. Email [email protected]
