Fresh calls for safety measures on busy A41 after accident claims life of woman

Renewed calls have been made for safety measures on the A41 following the death of a woman.

Highways chiefs say they must await the outcome of the police investigation before any decision is made about possible safety measures.

People took to Facebook to call for improvements to help prevent further accidents and deaths on the busy bypass.

Herts County Council spokesman Andrew Dawson said: “We were sorry to hear about this tragic accident and extend our sympathies to the family.

“We are awaiting the outcome of the police investigation into the cause of the accident.”

The accident claimed the life of a woman aged in her 50s who was travelling on a scooter when it collided with a car on the evening of February 28.

The woman, from Beaconsfield in Bucks, died at the scene when a blue Ford Fiesta was involved in a crash with a grey black Yamaha scooter.
