Free sports sessions for young carers

Young carers are being given the chance to have some fun and get active during their school summer holidays, thanks to charity Carers in Herfordshire and Dacorum Sports Trust.

Free sports sessions have been organised for young carers aged eight and over living in Dacorum, St Albans, Three Rivers and Watford who help care for a relative who is elderly or has an illness or disability.

The Thursday activity sessions include fitness for young carers aged 15 and over at Sportspace Berkhamsted tomorrow; netball and rush hockey at Sportspace Hemel on August 11; climbing and caving at XC Hemel on August 18; fencing and badminton at Sportspace Berkhamsted on August 25; and orienteering at Phasels Wood on September 1.
