Free car safety event for women drivers

Women drivers are invited to a free Ladies' Evening at the Roy Chapman Ltd service centre, to help increase confidence and safety behind the wheel.

The event will take place from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, May 19, at the dealership on Western Road in Tring and includes light refreshments.

PCSO Lorraine Horsted will share her top safety tips.

Former policeman Daniel Rands, who specialises in insurance fraud investigation, will be talking about ‘Crash for Cash’ incidents and the benefits of dash cams.

Technicians from Roy Chapman Ltd, including Vicky Kempton who recently starred in a series of short films for the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) along side BBC Formula 1 presenter Suzi Perry, will be giving a practical workshop demonstration about basic car maintenance and ensuring your car is safe on the roads. There will also be the chance to win a free car service and other prizes.

PCSO Horsted said: “This promises to be a really useful event. I’d encourage people to book a place – it’ll be really informal and a fun evening.

“Our Ladies’ Evening events first came about after we were approached by the.

“They carried out a survey that showed that nearly half of women drivers didn’t get their cars serviced or wouldn’t handle a booking themselves as they were not comfortable dealing with mechanics and garages.
