Michael Morley, 38, of White House Farm, will have to carry out 150 hours of unpaid community work for all ten counts, as well as pay £60 to victim services and costs of £2,000.

Morley failed to ensure the animals received treatment for ailments including tumours and diarrhoea.

An Edward Smith, 63, of the same address, was charged with 22 offences, although 10 were dismissed. He was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to horses and goats, and was committed to prison for 10 weeks suspended for two years. He had to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £80, plus costs of £10,000, and was given 28 days to transfer ownership of the horses and goats.

A Julie Smith, 60, of the same address, was found guilty of 12 instances of the same offence and cleared of another 10. She received the same sentence as Edward Smith.

But a Patrick Smith, 59, also of White House Farm, had all ten charges put to him dismissed.
