First ‘Oktoberfest’ event means beer and Bavarian breakfasts for all
The event was held after a service at St Peter’s in Berkhamsted, during which there was a free Buxtehude cantata musical performance.
It was performed in German style, from the balcony at the back, by the Bridgewater Sinfonietta during the Eucharist.

On Saturday, the church hosted a concert by talented young singers, a talk on cultural relationships and a tasting of the finest German wines.
The speech by the University of Hertfordshire’s Alix Green examined how Germany was affected by the fall of the Berlin Wall 25 years ago.
