Firefighters tackle early morning blaze in Hemel Hempstead

Two crews from Hemel Hempstead, one from Berkhamsted and one from Kings Langley attended.

A spokesperson for Herfordshire Fire and Rescue said: "Fire in ground floor of property – used as an Indian takeaway.

"Flats above evacuated as a precautionary measure.

"Four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets in use."

Hemel Blue Watch posted about the incident on Twitter, @Hemel Blue Watch tweeted: "We attended a fire in a commercial premise on Lawn Lane, Hemel in the early hours of this morning. Good work by crews to stop any further fire spread. Here you can see the heat build up melted the plastic containers with in the compartment."
