Firefighters' reach new heights for young cystic fibrosis suffer

The energetic crews climbed 16,000 metres in total outside The Marlowes Shopping Centre in Hemel on Saturday, May 28, raising £2,000 towards the cost of James Maguire’s medical airway clearance vest.
The youngster currently has to have daily medication and physiotherapy sessions.

Hide AdThe crews from Hemel, St Albans and Watford fire service spent four hours constantly climbing a total of 1,600 times.
All money donated will go towards buying James the life-changing vest.
The youngster currently has to undergo three physiotherapy sessions a day and take daily medication to keep him well.
With the vest, James will not only gain greater independence but will also have a much better life quality and extend his life.

Hide AdIn total £8,000 is needed to buy the vest and machinery needed.
Amanda Maguire, James’ mum, said: “Thank you everyone – to the firefighters, to the people that massively, contributed and to Keith, Debbie, and to Cassie from the Marlowes. “This has been a great opportunity for us to move towards James’ fight for a life unlimited! We are very grateful.”
