A full day of free festive fun for all the family is being hosted with music, an ice rink and a visit from Santa.
Attractions at the Christmas Live event in Hemel Hempstead’s new look town centre will start at 10am on Sunday (November 29) and end with a firework show at 5.30pm.
The programme for the day includes a children’s snow slope, courtesy of the Snow Centre; a grown-up grotto at Bank Court with food stalls, bar and music; street entertainment; a climbing wall and other outdoor adventures thanks to Phasels Wood activity centre; live performers on the Rainbow Stage; music and fun with Heart Radio; and a free ice rink.
In addition to all that, Santa and his sleigh and his favourite reindeer Rudolph will pull up at the Marlowes for his Festive Flight workshop.
Launching at noon, shopers will be able to visit Santa for free until 4pm.
Hemel’s two main shopping centres and Dacorum Borough Council have worked together to create the special day.
Riverside Shopping Centre is offering the opportunity to get a free photo taken in a giant snow globe from noon to 6pm.
The day will end on a high as everyone gathers underneath the Christmas tree by the stage at 5.30pm for the countdown as Hemel Hempstead Christmas Heroes - voted by listeners on Heart Radio - switch on the lights of the tree in New Town Square.
A grand fireworks finale will then close the event with a bang.
Santa will return to the Marlowes every weekend until Christmas, from 11am - 4pm, to invite children to join his team of festive flight attendants.
Children will get fully trained to take to the skies before grabbing the reins themselves and experiencing an interactive sleigh ride they will never forget!
