Four years ago a group of Christians representing Sunnyside and Kings Road churches had a community based meeting and recognised that there was a need to help the unemployed and those with a desire to embark upon a new career.

Martin Fillippides, who leads the team, said: “The last course was very successful in helping those who attended so we have decided to run the programme again this year.”

The course, which will take place at Make Believe Cafe in Berkhamsted on Tuesdays March 17, 24 and 31 from 7.30-9.30pm, is called Work Matters and is open to all, completely free of charge.

It includes free tea and coffee and will be facilitated by, amongst others, an HR director, a barrister and an accountant.

Content of the free course will include: the job search (presenting yourself/networking); your legal rights; managing money; starting a business; the person (managing stress).

A different aspect of the programme will be covered on each evening, so participants are encouraged to attend all three sessions to gain the full benefit from the course.

If you, or anyone you know, might benefit from attending the course, contact Martin by email on [email protected] or call Mike Wallis on 07891 760244.

Christian Viewpoint

Surely the news is grim; many things wrong; family relationships painful; violence and immorality; who can you really trust; wars and rumous of wars; fatalities both natural and man-made; failure to care/protect the old and weak; dishonesty and greed to society’s highest levels; political parties a shambles; governments passing laws that are unbibical. Clearly unfulfilled promises show that governments know not what to do. What in the world is happening? But examine the bible and listen to prophets today, this description matches God’s warning of His coming judgement. Disagreeing will not help. All will face our creator.
