Faith News: Including Women’s World Day of Prayer

The church quiz was a great success, with 112 quizzers making up 14 teams in the Millennium Hall.

The raffle made £299, with new vicar The Reverend Adrian Manning drawing the lucky winning numbers.

Overall a much-needed profit of £678 was made for All Saints Church.

Rev Manning said: ‘On Maundy Thursday, April 2, at 6.00pm we will re-enact parts of a Passover meal together in St Mary’s Church, Ivinghoe.

“This has been hugely popular in recent years. It is open to all.

“Do get a ticket, come along and learn more about why we worship as we do in church.”

Women’s World Day of Prayer

The Women’s World Day of Prayer will be observed in Berkhamsted with a service at 1pm at Berkhamsted Baptist Church on Friday (March 6).

Devised by the women of the Bahamas, the service will be supported by all the churches in Berkhamsted who will be joining with congregations across the globe in a wave of prayer starting at sunrise in Samoa and concluding some 35 hours later in American Samoa.

All are welcome, men as well as women.

Refreshments will be served after the service.

Peace exhibition

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association UK invites everyone to attend a peace exhibition at Tring community centre in Silk Mill Way on Saturday (March 7) from 10am-3pm.

The association is one of Britain’s oldest established Muslim communities.

The aims of the exhibition include showing the 100 year record of service that the Ahmadiyya Muslims have of serving the nation.

Visitors are invited to enjoy refreshments throughout the day.

Guests expected to attend include a representative of the Lord Lieutenant, the High Sheriff, and the chairman of Herts County Council, the Mayor of Hertsmere, Hertfordshire county councillors, the Police and Crime Commissioner, the Mayor of Tring and Tring parish councillors.

Spring fayre

Everyone is invited to visit and enjoy the Kings Langley Methodist Church spring fayre on Saturday March 14 from 10am - 1pm.

The well established event will have a range of stalls including handicrafts, jewellry, cakes, gardening, preserves, white elephant/books, toiletries and toys.

Refreshments will be available throughout and light lunches will be served. So why not make a morning of it, collect some bargains and then relax with a cuppa and lunch.
