What began as a one-off concert to celebrate the business achievements of an events producer has now turned into an annual event.
Chilfest was the brainchild of Steve Butcher, managing director of Universal Event Productions. He wanted to create a top quality outdoor music event of original 80s bands, as well as support Rennie Grove Hospice.
But what turned out to be the inaugural event was so hugely successful and popular that he was immediately persuaded to repeat the festival.
And now here we are in the third year of a top quality superb live outdoor music event right here on our doorsteps.
Chilfest this year takes place in the usual place - Pendley Meadow, Cow Lane, Tring - across two days.
On Friday July 10 the line up includes Sister Sledge, Shalamar, Jocelyn Brown, Odyssey and Shakatak.
And the following day, Saturday July 11 there’s Billy Ocean, ABC, Bad Manners, Limahl, The Blow Monkeys, The Real Thing and Sonia.
Tickets cost £34.50 for adults on Friday and £36.50 on Saturday, with various concessions for children and families.
Retailers throughout Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire are selling tickets including busineses in Tring, Pitstone, Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Aylesbury. Go to www.chilfest.co.uk to buy tickets and for details of postal applications and retail ticket outlets.
Since 2013 Chilfest has donated £20,000 to Rennie Grove Hospice.
