The new HealthyU fitness centre opened in Bennetts End with a taster day allowing ladies who are aiming to get fit or improve their skills to try out the facilities on offer.

HealthyU is a ladies-only gym offering a wide range of services including dieting and nutrition advice, four-week Healthy New U programmes, circuits and personal training with fully qualified instructor Jodie Reiss.

Samantha Harry, who helps manage the HealthyU initiative alongside Sara Scott, said: “HealthyU is aimed at making ladies feel confident and at ease during exercise and no matter what age, shape or size our members are.

“We welcome them with a smile and offer full support in a non-intimidating environment.

“The launch went really well – it was quite busy and we had a really good turnout.”

According to those behind the project, HealthyU’s aim is to provide a non-intimidating environment to ensure women feel confident and at ease while exercising – which is why you won’t find mirrors in front of any of the cardio equipment.

The facility offers a range of membership packages as well as day passes, and can be found at 1-4 Kimps Way, Bennetts End.

The gym is open Mondays to Fridays from 8am to 8pm and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
