Edna stepped out in style for her 107th birthday bash
Edna Lucas, of High View Lodge in Hemel Hempstead, marked the milestone at an afternoon tea party with family and friends.
Yorkshire-born Edna has lived at the care home in Cherry Orchard for six years, but before that was cared for by her late son Peter who passed away in 2012.

Hide AdDaughter Margaret, 78, who visits her mother every week, believes keeping active is the secret to Edna’s long life.
She said: “Mum was a great walker. She’d often walk all the way down the canal to Tring.”
Talking about the party, Margaret said: “Mum’s had fun – plenty of cake and even a mouthful of bubbly!”
A young Edna – who was born on March 14, 1909 – moved down to London during the Second World War, and it was while she was working as a booking clerk on the tube at Holborn that she met husband Eric.

Hide AdThe pair went on to have a son, Peter, and daughter Margaret, who now lives in Richmond, London.
The Lucas family moved out to a start a new life in Warners End, Hemel Hempstead in the 1950s when Eric was given a chance to relocate in his job as a civil servant. Sadly, Eric passed away in 1973 after a short illness.
High View Lodge manager, Tracey, said: “Edna is cheeky and fiesty, and she knows what she wants. She’s made of strong stuff.”
