Early morning raids see six arrested in connection with drugs hauls

A police operation spanning two counties and the capital has seen six men arrested in connection with a series of large drugs hauls.

The Eastern Region Special Operations Unit was assisted by officers from local forces to carry out 12 warrants across Herts, north London and Essex at 5am this morning.

The six men, aged 23, 24, 27, 28, 30 and 36, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs.

Four were arrested in Essex and two in north London, and they are all currently being held in custody in Herts.

The arrests are in connection with three drugs seizures in Essex – 3.7 tonnes of cannabis was recovered in October while three kilos of cocaine were obtained in three separate seizures during September and November.
