‘Dangerous’ rapist still on the run

Malcolm Millman, 58, absconded during a day visit to the Amaravati Buddhist monastery in St Margarets, Great Gaddesden, near Hemel Hempstead at about 2pm on Saturday, October 24.

He was due to return to Chadwick Lodge, a medium-security facility in Milton Keynes, but never arrived.

Millman – who was convicted of rape in 1996 – was last seen at Manchester Airport railway station on Monday, October 26 at around 12.30pm.

The most recent CCTV image of Millman, above, is from Leeds railway station on Sunday, October 25 at around 8.50am.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen Millman in Leeds or elsewhere.

Officers do not believe Mr Millman has access to a passport and therefore is still in the country.

They say he ‘poses a risk specifically to women and girls’ and has the potential to be violent, as he has previously threatened his victims with a weapon.

If he is seen, members of the public should not approach him and instead call 999 immediately.

Anyone with information about Millman’s whereabouts should call Thames Valley Police on 101.

Police are also asking health workers to report any potential sightings of Millman, as he will need medication for medical conditions including heart disease and diabetes.

Police say it is likely that he will visit a GP surgery, chemist or emergency department to get this.

Det Supt Chris Ward, from Thames Valley Police’s major crime unit, said: “We need the public to let us know if they see anyone matching Millman’s description, particularly NHS staff or other health workers who may come into contact with him as he tries to obtain the medication that he needs.

“Please be vigilant in hospitals, surgeries and pharmacies, and help to spread the wanted appeal with posters and leaflets in your waiting rooms and staff rooms.

“If you see Millman, do not approach him and call 999 immediately.

“Any piece of information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be vital to tracing Millman and ensuring this dangerous sex offender is no longer on the streets posing a threat to the public.”
