The Berkhamsted-basedhospice is urging people to raise money and get fit in the process by cycling one of four routes in 2015.

Cycle the length of the UK on a challenge of a lifetime by cycling 1,000 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats, or follow the 2012 Olympic cycle route on closed roads through London and into Surrey’s stunning countryside on the Prudential RideLondon 100 mile ride.

Nick Fletcher, from Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead, completed the event last year and said: “If you’re tempted do it! It’s a day I won’t forget, we had such a great time waving at people on route and meeting other riders.

“ I’m so glad I did it for The Hospice of St Francis as it felt good riding for a local charity, where my money will help those in my community.”

The hospice, which cares for people with life shortening illnesses across Dacorum, also has places on the London to Paris cycle route and the Three Cities cycle ride in London, Amsterdam and Brussels.

Head of community fundraising at the hospice Harriet Karia said: “Our cycling places are most sought after so do get in touch if you’d like to know more about what’s involved.”

The fundraising team can also help suggest lots of other ways to raise money, from wine tasting evenings to car boot sales.
