Two arrested on suspicion of drink driving in Hemel Hempstead

Police in Dacorum were busy in the early hours of Sunday morning (August 23) as officers arrested two people on suspicion of drink driving, recovered an uninsured motorcycle and arrested a man on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.

Officers also responded to reports of a fight in the Gadebridge area of the town and a man was arrested after being found in possession of a bladed article.

Police were called to Watford Road in Kings Langley just after 12.30am on Sunday, following a collision.

Officers attended the scene and a 22-year-old man from Chipperfield was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

He was taken to custody and later released on bail.

He is next due to appear at court on Monday 12 October.

The car, a Vauxhall Corsa, was recovered at the roadside.

Police were called to a disturbance in the Gadebridge area of Hemel Hempstead just before 1.20am on Sunday.

It was reported that two people were having a verbal altercation at the junction of Coles Hill and Marnham Rise.

Officers attended and arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a bladed article after a knife was recovered.

The man was taken to custody and was later released on conditional bail.

He is due to answer bail at Hatfield Police Station on Thursday, September 17.

Police on proactive patrol attempted to stop a motorcycle on Masons Road, Hemel Hempstead at 2.45am, as they had reason to believe the vehicle had links to criminality.

A pursuit was carried out but the rider of the motorcycle escaped officers before the bike was located in The Flags nearby.

Roadside checks found the bike had no insurance so the vehicle was recovered and intelligence was recorded.

Later that night, in a separate incident police on proactive patrol in Hemel Hempstead stopped a silver Mercedes SLK on Mark Road just after 4am.

They breathalysed the driver before arresting them on suspicion of drink driving and transporting them to custody.
