PCSOs help detain wanted man in Hemel Hempstead

A man wanted by police was detained by officers thanks to two PCSOs who were patrolling the streets in Hemel Hempstead.

On Friday, September 4, PCSOs Louise Lester and Jordan Manfre spotted a wanted male whilst on patrol.

They kept eyes on the suspect and called for backup. The suspect was detained by their Team 5 Intervention colleagues and taken to custody.

Martin Horsefell, 35, of no fixed address, has been charged with theft from a shop and using threatening, abusive or insulting words likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress (Section 5 Public Order offence).

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: "The theft relates to the alleged theft of three legs of lamb from Aldi in Maylands Avenue, Hemel Hempstead, on August 31.

"The Section 5 Public Order offence relates to his arrest on September 4 when it is alleged he began shouting and swearing in Hemel town centre."

He appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, September 5),where he was bailed to appear at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on November 30.
