Man charged following vehicle stop in Hemel Hempstead

A 30-year-old man has been charged in connection with a vehicle stop in Hemel Hempstead.

Arlind Narkaj, of York Road, Stevenage, has been remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Luton Crown Court on Monday, August 10.

In the early hours of Thursday, July 9, officers detained a man after they saw him acting suspiciously near a vehicle in Crawley Drive, Grovehill.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: "The charges are possession with intent to supply class A drugs (cocaine), obstructing a police officer, possession of an identity document with intent, driving without insurance and driving without a valid licence.

"Following a strip search at Hemel Hempstead police station, officers located a bag containing suspected cocaine on his person."
