Man charged after car crashes into Hemel home

Police arrested two men on suspicion of drink driving on Saturday, in two separate incidents

A 52-year-old man from Shropshire, has been charged after a car crashed into the front of a home in Hemel Hempstead on Saturday.

Police were called to reports of a collision on Leys Road, in Bennetts End, a car had crashed into the front of a house and the driver reportedly made attempts to flee the scene.

No one inside the property was injured.

Officers conducted a roadside breath test, which the driver failed, he was arrested and taken into custody.

Stephen Buah, 52, of Deercote, Telford, Shropshire, has been charged in connection with this incident and has a court date of June 26.

In a separate incident, officers spotted a man riding a moped down St Albans Road, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

He was stopped and officers had reason to suspect he had consumed alcohol. He failed a roadside breath test and was arrested.

Jose Meneses, 24, of Queensway, has been charged in connection with this incident and is next due to appear at court on June 26.
