Officers investigating a theft from a vehicle in Hemel Hempstead have released CCTV images of a person they would like to identify, as they believe that they may be able to assist with their investigation.

On Sunday, September 13, at some point between 6am and 6.45am, a car jack and a locking wheel nut were stolen from a driveway in Mountfield Road.

PC Nicholas Kent, who is investigating, said: “I know the CCTV images are not of the best quality, but we need to ensure that we follow all possible lines of enquiry for our investigation.

"We are now asking the public for their help, so if you recognise the person pictured, please do get in touch with me.

“While people should be able to leave items on their property without fear of them being taken, it’s a sad fact that opportunist thieves are out there and it only takes seconds for them to strike.

"I would therefore like to remind everyone of the importance of securing your property. Please avoid leaving any items, especially items of value, on display or in plain sight – whether that be on your driveway, doorstep or near windows.”
