A woman from Hemel Hempstead is warning her neighbours to be vigilant after an attempted burglary in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday)

The attempted burglary happened at around 1.30am in the Barnfield area of the town and the woman wants to warn other residents to be vigilant.

She said: "It's not been reported to police as no burglary actually took place as burglar scared off by dunking themselves in the pond.

"We're talking to neighbours but thought a warning out to local residents would be good."
