Court round up: including man who smashed up computer belonging to council

Ceran David Andrew Humphries, 18, of Candlefield Road, Hemel Hempstead. On November 20 at Hemel Hempstead had in his possession a small amount of cannabis. Discharged conditionally for 12 months, fined £85 and ordered to pay victim surcharge of £15. The cannabis is to be forfeited under section 27 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and destroyed.

Gary Murphy, 46, of The Elms, Redbourne Road, Hemel Hempstead. On December 29 at Hemel Hempstead, destroyed a computer monitor belonging to Dacorum Borough Council. Fined £80 and ordered to pay compensation of £200, victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Ian Richard Jones, 48, of Boxted Road, Hemel Hempstead. Application to discharge a sexual offences prevention order made on October 15, 2009 by Watford Magistrates Court on the grounds that the applicant has committed no further criminal offences. He feels it is no longer necessary or proportionate to protect the public. Application refused. Reasons: Bench not satisfied that there are enough valid reasons/change of circumstance to change this order.

Ryan John Hook, 19, of Breachwood Green, Hitchin. On January 9 at Hemel Hempstead committed assault by beating. Community order made. The defendant must carry out 50 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months, supervised by the responsible officer. Ordered to pay compensation of £100, victim surcharge of £60, costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Daniel Phillip Rogers, 18, of Strandburgh Place, Hemel Hempstead. On November 2 at Hemel Hempstead, committed assault by beating. Community order made. The defendant must participate in an accredited programme for 30 days. Offender to comply with any instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments (with the responsible officer or someone else nominated by them), or to participate in any activity as required by the responsible officer up to a maximum of 30 days. To carry out unpaid work for 80 hours within the next 12 months, supervised by the responsible officer. Ordered to pay compensation of £100, victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Daniel Phillip Rogers, 18, of Strandburgh Place, Hemel Hempstead. On November 2 at Hemel Hempstead assaulted a police constable in the execution of her duty. Community order made. The defendant must participate in an accredited programme for 30 days. Offender to comply with any instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments. Required to carry out unpaid work for 80 hours within the next 12 months, supervised by the responsible officer. Ordered to pay compensation of £50.
