Ofsted has rated the county council’s services as ‘Good’ in their latest inspection.

The previous reports, in 2010 and 2013, both gave the county an ‘Adequate’ rating.

This puts Herts County Council in the top quarter of authorities of 152 across England.

The independent review also outlined areas for further improvement, which the council is working to address.

Councillor Richard Roberts, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “Bearing in mind that Ofsted’s inspection regime is tougher than it used to be, it is particularly pleasing to improve our rating. But we appreciate that the hard work does not stop here, and we will continue to listen and learn from Ofsted’s feedback.”
