Can you spare some wool for knit and natter group?

Volunteer Centre Dacorum urgently needs your spare wool to help our new knit and natter group keep going.

We have a happy band of volunteers who knit and crochet at home and a new group that meet at the Roundhouse in the Marlowes.

Our knitters turn double knit and 3 or 4 ply wool into beautiful handmade garments.

The colourful hats, scarves, jumpers and blankets bring smiles and joy and make a real difference to the lives of babies and children at home and overseas.

If you have any wool to donate or would like to become a volunteer knitter, we would love to hear from you.

Give a gift to the elderly and lonely this Christmas

Even if you can’t volunteer this Christmas, you can still make a difference to the lives of a family in need or an isolated and lonely older person by donating a gift.

Age UK Dacorum are asking for unwrapped presents for them to give out at their Christmas parties or to be delivered to the door of those who are unable to get out of the house.

You could take your gift to either Age UK Dacorum offices at Half Moon Yard in the High Street or drop them off at Volunteer Centre Dacorum, Marlowes.

Last year, more than 180 elderly and isolated people enjoyed lunch at the citadel on Waterhouse Street, or a meal delivered to their door by real life Christmas angels.

Donations for the Salvation Army Christmas present appeal for families in need can be left at Superdrug in the Marlowes.
