Dacorum Mencap

ROAR is a group based social scheme for adults with learning disabilities.

A wide range of fun things to do are planned each month and take place during the day, in the evening and at weekends.

Volunteers are needed who can help support members to get the most from their activities and have fun doing it.

Dacorum Mencap provides a variety of services to support people with a learning disability and their families and carers.

These services focus on enabling people to build the skills they need to live as independently as possible.

The right volunteer for ROAR will have good listening and people skills with bags of patience and enthusiasm; an understanding of learning disabilities; the ability to challenge discrimination and maintain confidentiality.

This is an ideal role for those wishing to work in the care field as well as for people with bags of enthusiasm who want to share it with others.

Volunteer Centre Dacorum

A volunteer with charity finance experience is required to take a strategic role on the Board of Trustees. The charity supports more than 470 other local groups to find the volunteers they need to keep vital services running. During the last decade the charity helped over 10,700 people of all ages, abilities and walks of life to become volunteers. The new treasurer /finance director will work with the chief executive in preparing budgets and reports for quarterly board meetings and the annual general meeting. Meetings are usually weekday evenings in central Hemel Hempstead. The AGM is in October.

Lions Club – Berkhamsted

The club organises a number of major fundraising events for the benefit of local people and good causes.

They need a treasurer who can attend their Thursday evening business meetings and help manage club finances.

No previous experience as a treasurer is required but you should be good with figures and willing to learn.
