The celebration of all that is good to eat and drink from across the region and beyond is now in its eighth year, with stalls selling condiments, artisan cheeses, home-cured and fresh meat, dairy products, confectionery, bakery, wine, beer and other drinks, plus cookware and other products.

And there’s a great line-up of expert demonstrators, compered by Masterchef contestant Ondine Hartgroves.

Sophie Grigson and Anita Chipalkatty are appearing on Saturday. On Sunday, there will be demonstrations by celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli and Masterchef finalist Saira Hamilton.

Visitors can also explore the farm animal display and learn how ‘field to fork’ works.

Emma Owen, of organisers Oakleigh Fairs, said: “We are delighted to be bringing the East of England Food Festival to the County Showground.

“With visitor numbers of around 7,500 over the years, it is arguably one of the largest food festivals in the region.

“From the 30 or so shows we run over the year, it has become increasingly apparent that people are fascinated by food. So many of us are concerned about food miles and traceability these days, and more and more of us are turning to ‘real food’.”

The festival takes place from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, March 25 and 26.

Tickets on the gate, adults £6, children £2, family £15.
