Pupils and staff at a Hemel Hempstead school will be getting brand new computers thanks to a donation from a retail giant.
The Collett School has received a £1,000 donation from the team at the Amazon fulfillment centre on Maylands industrial estate.
Team members from the 450,000 sq ft warehouse visited the school in Lockers Park Lane to hand over the cash after workers nominated the school for support.
Lorenzo Barbo, general manager at the centre, said: “When we learned that The Collett School was looking for support to help purchase new computers, we were determined to help.
“Amazon is passionate about helping young people have the best possible experiences with technology and we’re excited to play a role in helping the pupils at The Collett School boost their learning with this donation.”
Gillian Lawton from The Collett School said: “We’re really thankful to Lorenzo and the team at Amazon for this kind gesture.
“The new computers will enhance lessons for our pupils and will be of great assistance as the boys and girls from Collett School plan their future careers.
“We’re looking forward to getting our new computers installed in the coming weeks and the pupils can’t wait to use them.”
