The Kings Langley Carnival Committee met at Kings Langley Cricket Club to donate monies from this year’s event to local charities and good causes.
Carnival chairman Carol Chandler and Mayor of Dacorum Gbola Adeleke presented cheques totalling £5,100 to 18 organisations. Recipients included all those who entertained the crowds and helped on the day, and good causes including Transition in Kings, Evergreen Club, Good Neighbours Association, Waterside Centre, Kings Langley Charities, Puffaten, Sunnyside Rural Trust, Life Opportunities Trust, Hospice of St Francis and Herts Air Ambulance.
Carol said: “We are delighted to be able to donate over £5,000 from this year’s carnival to so many local organisations who do such excellent work for the community.”
Plans for next year’s carnival are already under way, organised by a committee of local residents, who would welcome any offers of help or suggestions.
