Car tyres slashed in vandalism spree

Three cars had their tyres slashed in a spate of vandalism in Boxmoor, said police today (Monday, May 16).

Officers are appealing for information and witnesses after the incidents on Wednesday last week (May 11).
Between 11.30am and 11.39am on Wednesday, May 11, the rear tyres of a green Nissan Jeep were punctured in St Johns Road (crime number D1/16/3367).

Between 8pm on Wednesday, May 11 and 5.50am on Thursday, May 12, a green Honda Accord was parked in the car park near to the cricket area in St Johns Road when three of its tyres were slashed (crime number D1/16/3366). Between 5pm on Wednesday, May 11 and 12.20pm on Thursday, May 12, all four tyres of a silver Renault Clio were slashed in Heath Lane (crime number D1/16/3376).

Inspector George Holland, from Hemel Hempstead’s Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw suspicious activity around vehicles in the Boxmoor area between the times stated to get in touch by calling the Hertfordshire Constabulary non-emergency number 101.

“You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

“I would also like to urge motorists and residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police. If you suspect a crime is in progress always dial 999.”
