Ambulance, fire and police were called to the incident on the slip road of the A41 northbound Bourne End junction, near Hemel Hempstead, at 8.05am.

It was inititally thought the female driver was trapped in the red Suzuki Alto after the incident, which Herts Police say involved a cement mixer, but this was not the case.

The East of England Ambulance Service Trust said she was treated for minor injuries at the scene before she was discharged as she did not require hospital treatment.

One lane was re-opened to ease traffic flow at 8.15am but now both lanes are flowing freely.

A spokesman for Herts Police said: “The vehicles were recovered just before 9am and we left the scene at 9.15am.”
