Members of the RAF provided the muscle power for the charity’s move to its new premises, just around the corner and still in Hemel Hempstead’s Paradise industrial estate.

The bigger building allows foodbank manager Sharon Boyall to better organise, assemble and distribute the emergency food parcels, of which more than 3,500 were handed out in the borough last year.

Shelving units were also supplied free of charge by Storax and alongside the RAG, a small army of DENS volunteers turned out to ensure that the move went smoothly.
