As Christmas approaches, now is a good time to think about repairing items that could be kept in use for longer with a little attention.
The fourth and final Community Repair Day of 2015, which takes place on November 21, offers a free assessment of broken items and, if possible, a free fix.
The event is organised by The Repair Shed, a project of Community Action Dacorum, hosted by Sunnyside Rural Trust in Hemel Hempstead.
The Repair Shed brings older men in Dacorum together to stay healthier and happier for longer through mending, making and learning.
Volunteer repairers will be available from 10.30am to 2.30pm. Owners have already booked in leaking boots, a troublesome toaster and kettle, a bike with bad brakes and a battery-operated puppet.
The repair service is free but advance booking is required at http://CommunityRepairDay5.eventbrite.co.uk
