Police were told that around 150 underage youngsters were planning to gather at Berkhamsted Castle on the evening of Tuesday, June 23.

As a result, a dispersal order was authorised which prohibited anyone from gathering at the site on Brownlow Road.

Officers patrolled the area throughout the evening and used the notice to move people on swiftly as they began to arrive.

Alcohol was seized and anti-social behaviour forms were issued to six people.

Neighbourhood Inspector George Holland said: “This operation shows that we will act on any information received about events which have the potential to cause anti-social behaviour issues, which can have a real impact on residents.

“Whilst we do not want to stop anyone from having fun, we would always encourage people to do it in a safe environment which will not cause a disturbance to, or have a detrimental impact on, the surrounding community.”

Anyone who has concerns about anti-social behaviour in their area can contact the Safer Neighbourhood Team on the non-emergency number 101.
