Boost for heritage trust

Dacorum Heritage Trust has received a boost by achieving 'museum status'.

The accolade, from the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council for the East of England, enhances the trust's credibility and will make fundraising easier.

The trust had to go through a year-long application process before the status was granted.

The Heritage Trust has 64,000 items at the museum store in Berkhamsted, all logged on computer, with an additional 52,000 reference records.

Everything relates to Dacorum and items range from a milk float to Roman pottery to paper magnate John Dickinson's desk, to war medals to photographs and works of art.
