The decomposed body of a dog discovered in woodland has sparked an RSPCA appeal.

The grim find was made by a passing dog walker on Saturday, June 27 in High Woods, a wooded area near Shenley Road in Woodhall Farm, Hemel Hempstead.

A spokesman for the RSPCA said: “The body was found in such a deteriorated state that it was difficult to know what breed the dog was, how he or she died, or how long he or she had been there.

“We would be very concerned to know if there was a welfare concern with the dog before he or she died, and ask anyone with any information to call us on 0300 123 8018.”
