Bobbie said: “Raising funds for Beating Bowel Cancer is very close to my heart. My dad, Martin Fuller, lost his life to bowel cancer at the age of 34.

“Recently my mum, Jackie Richardson, who is 70, was also diagnosed. Thankfully, it was caught early and could be treated.

“She’s always been healthy –non-smoker, never liked alcohol and enjoys Pilates, Zumba and walking – so it was a real shock. I want to complete the challenge to raise awareness of this awful cancer which, as I have learned, takes so many lives.”

Bobbie, who has never tackled a marathon befor, said: “I think my biggest challenge will be trying to keep at my own pace among the other runners. But I want to make sure I take it all in and enjoy it. I don’t want to let my family and friends down so I know their support and the cause will get me across the finishing line.”
