Wild boars at Whipsnade enjoy a spot of apple-bobbing for Halloween

The ghoulish apple bobbing fun is all part of the zoo’s enrichment programme to stimulate the natural instinct of boars to forage for food.

A special Halloween themed activity week called Boo at the Zoo is running throughout the half-term break.

Visitors can enjoy a huge range of activities including pumpkin carving and a ghost hunt aboard the Jumbo Express steam train.

Little ones can try out their most devilish moves at a pumpkin party and the more studious can go to ghoul school to learn how to concoct spells.
