Mum Alison Jiear will take to the Britain’s Got Talent stage tonight to sing in the live semi-finals of the TV competition.
She wowed judges with her rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone to make it through to the final stages.
The Hemel Hempstead backing singer, originally from Australia, was even complimented by the notoriously hard to impress Simon Cowell who said she had the best vocals the show had ever seen stage.
She was chosen by Simon and his three fellow judges - David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon - to go through the to semi finals.
Since first appearing on the television contest, Alison has also featured on chat show This Morning, where she told presenters Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden the experience has been overwhelming.
After years of being an unknown voice on commercials and backing vocals, Alison is now making the most of her time in the limelight.
On This Morning she told Phillip and Amanda: “There are so many incredible performers out there that jog away seven days a week recording commercials and doing backing vocals and they are undiscovered, unrecognised and anonymous.
“I have done some wonderful things in the 30 years that I have been working and a lot of people do know who I am but there are an awful lot of people who don’t.”
Tonight’s show, at 8pm on ITV, is the second live semi final in the latest series of Britain’s Got Talent. The acts going through to the final will be revealed at 9.30pm
The overall winner - chosen by public vote on Sunday - will take to the stage at the Royal Variety Performance to entertain The Queen and will bag the life-changing cash prize of £250,000.
