A young businesswoman is celebrating her baby-casting company’s third birthday with plans to roll out a franchise across the country.
Sophie Cox, 23, set up Baby Moments in January 2013 after getting inspiration while on a prop-making course when she was working at Watford Palace Theatre.
She won a grant of £1,000 through Dacorum’s Den and now the business has bloomed into a real success.
The former Cavendish School student has added adult and animal castings to her service, as well as dainty fingerprint jewellery.
Sophie, who lives with her parents in Newford Close, Hemel Hempstead, said: “I can’t quite believe it’s been three years. When I was at school, I never imagined I would be doing something like this but I really love it.
“This year I’m going to focus on franchising the business and I’ve already had some interest, so watch this space!”
Sophie – who has just bought her first home with boyfriend Josh, 24 – believes part of her success is the fact she visits clients at home, instead of asking them to come to her studio in her parents’ back garden.
To celebrate the milestone, Sophie will be running competitions on the Baby Moments’ Facebook page all this month.
