Arson investigation launched into house fire near Berkhamsted

Police are investigating yesterday's house fire in Northchurch, near Berkhamsted, as arson.

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue was called shortly before 1.30pm yesterday (Thursday) to reports of a fire affecting the roof areas of multiple properties, in Herons Elm, Northchurch.

The fire service ended the incident just before 7pm, in total nine fire engines attended the fire.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: "Officers are investigating the fire as arson.

"The fire spread to four houses in total causing substantial damage.

"Thankfully, no one was trapped or injured.
