Arson attack leaves Mercedes and garage badly damaged by fire

A Mercedes was set on fire deliberately and police are probing the incident which they are treating as arson.

At around 1am on Saturday, the grey S Class was parked in Runcorn Crescent, Hemel Hempstead, when it was set alight.

‘Significant fire damage’ was caused to the car as well as damage to a garage door it was parked next to.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the arson.

Sgt Matt Deveney, from the Hemel Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident or who has any information at all that could help our investigation.”
