Georgina Hoffman, of Berkhamsted, is supporting the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for sick youngsters who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

She was inspired to have the chop after her mother’s teenage god-daughter took on a similar charity challenge.

“I’m just really surprised but I’m also really proud.”

Georgina’s hair is around 55cm long but after the big snip at the town’s Zen hairdressers on Saturday, March 14 she will be sporting a bob hairstyle.

Georgina is the second Berkhamsted youngster to have her hair cut in aid of the trust - 10 year old Bethany Champ has so far raised more than £1,000 through her haircut.
