A man from Hemel Hempstead has created an app which allows drivers to contact other vehicle owners through the app by typing in their registration plate.

Zwelitsha Mushambadope (known as Zee Mushy), from Adeyfield, created Linko to allow people to contact other vehicle owners by simply typing or scanning their reg plate then making contact through in-app calls and messaging.

Vehicle owners who have downloaded the app will only be able to contact other vehicle owners who have also downloaded the app.

The 24-year-old came up with the idea after finding himself in a situation where another vehicle owner needed to contact him to move his car.

He said: "I used to stay in a flat where it was really difficult to park and one night I got back from work late and there was nowhere to park, so I parked in front of a garage and planned to get up early and move it.

"But I overslept and when I went to move it there was a note asking me to not block the garage as it blocked the person in and they were late for work.

"I felt really bad and thought, if only there was a way that he could have contacted me and asked me to move my car.

"So I came up with this app that lets you contact the driver through the app.

"For the past few months I’ve been working and developing an app that could rid you and the rest of our community of these problems.

"The feedback has been really good and a lot of people think it's a great idea, but it will only really work if everyone downloads the app.

"It's out now and it's free to download and works on all smartphones."
