Look out for the displays around Hemel Hempstead

Yarn Bomb Hemel Hempstead have been spreading festive cheer this month with a collection of Christmas knits displayed in the town.

Members of the group have created Christmas postbox toppers, and '12 days of Christmas' toppers.

The Christmas selection of toppers - made from crochet and knitting- will be raising money for The Youth Booth, a charity that runs youth projects and services in Dacorum and aims to raise enough money to fund the running costs of its services.

Christine Allsopp, founder of Yarn Bomb Hemel Hempstead, said: "We have had one lady, Sharon Lewis, create the 12 Days of Christmas toppers, another lady has made some of the Days of Christmas.

"We have had members knit lots of different Christmas creations that have gone out around the town.

"The response has been great, especially since the latest Tier 4 announcement. People have been telling us that the knitted toppers brighten up their day and their children love seeing them.

"You can see them when you go out for a walk around the town. It's nice to be able to do something positive for the community and people are loving them.

"This time we are raising money for The Youth Booth, people can donate by going to our fundraising page, or by scanning the QR code on the toppers."

In March, the group will be adding to last year's Roald Dahl collection to celebrate World Book Day.
