Berkhamsted care home creates a festive display for residents
Bringing Christmas cheer to Ashlyns
A care home in Berkhamsted created a festive display to give the front of the house extra sparkle for residents this Christmas.
Kelly Huxtable, the care manager of Ashlyns residential home, wanted to make the house look extra special this year, as the coronavirus pandemic made it difficult for residents to see family and friends on a regular basis.
With the help from Linda, the homes housekeeper, the pair set to work.
Linda made the reindeer's fur from old towels and a waistcoat for the gingerbread so he kept warm.
Kelly said: "I just wanted to make the entrance a little bit special this year to cheer the residents up.
"Like most of us they are missing family and friends, and Christmas is going to be just a little different than they are use too."
Joan a resident at Ashlyns thought it was very festive and brought a smile to her face.
A spokesperson for Ashlyns said: "We are all very pleased with with our display and hope it brings some cheer to all that see it."
