Students in Hemel Hempstead raised £501 for Hertfordshire Mind Network when they took part in a Valentine's Day Virtual Balloon Race.

A team of Year 12 students from Kings Langley's Sixth Form, signed up for the eco-friendly online Valentine's Day virtual balloon race to raise awareness and money for Hertfordshire Mind Network.

The charity delivers essential mental health support in Hertfordshire, providing a diverse range of services from our the Wellbeing Centres and other venues across all ten districts of the county.

The race took seven days to complete, the software used current live weather data to determine the progress of each balloon and each entry was able to track their purchased balloon on Google Maps and Satellites once they were launched.

A spokesperson for the school's Sixth Form said: "They successful sold 167 balloons raising an amazing amount of £501 for their charity.

"Hugh thank you to all of those who purchased a balloon and the continued support to all our student's charities."
