Police are warning Dacorum residents of potential rogue traders that have been operating in the Bovingdon, Flaunden and Kings Langley areas.

Local officers were called to the area yesterday afternoon (Monday) after a concerned member of the public contacted the police.

In a post on Facebook, Dacorum Police said: "Rogue Traders will call at your door and offer to do work on your home or garden that will either be unnecessary or vastly over-priced.

"Commonly they will suggest that tiles may be loose or that guttering looks faulty. Other services commonly offered are driveway paving, tree or hedge cutting and power-washing.

"Be wary of cold callers and look out for elderly neighbours."

Police are asking residents to call 999:

- if you suspect a crime is in progress

- if you have a suspicious caller offering services and putting pressure on you to get the work done immediately

- if you believe someone is acting suspiciously around your neighbour's property.
